The stingy Mazama defense wasn't in a giving mood on Tuesday night, which didn't bode well for the Phoenix girls' basketball team.

The host Pirates were limited to single-digit scoring in all 4 quarters of a 41-18 Skyline Conference loss to Mazama. Mazama improved to 16-5 overall and 7-2 in Skyline play while Phoenix dropped to 3-19 and 0-9.

Taylor DeVry scored 13 of the 18 Pirate points in the game. PHS returns to action Friday,hosting Klamath Union.
