A two-set lead wasn't enough for the Phoenix High School volleyball team on Tuesday night.
After cruising to wins in the first two sets (25-11 and 25-21), the Pirates lost their momentum and dropped the final three sets in a Skyline Conference match at North Valley. The Knights scored wins of 25-12, 25-11 and 15-8. Phoenix led 5-1 in the final match but was unable to sustain its momentum.
The Pirates dropped to 2-2 in league play and 5-7 overall. They return to action on Thursday, visiting Henley.
