Phoenix took Henley to the limit in the final two sets, but the Hornets prevailed, 25-9, 25-23, 27-25, in the Skyline Conference match on Thursday night in Klamath Falls.
The Pirates (5-7, 2-3 Skyline) received 17 assists and four aces from setter Sofia Tringolo, while Katelyn Hanson went for six kills, three blocks and three aces.
Avary Reneau added six kills and two blocks and Lexi Smith four kills and two blocks for Phoenix. The Pirates will take part in the Douglas Tournament on Saturday before returning to conference action Tuesday when they host Mazama.
