The Phoenix volleyball team took some swings at the best team in the Skyline Conference on Tuesday night.
Unfortunately, the Pirates weren't able to land enough meaningful punches.
Host Hidden Valley broke away midway through the first set on its way to sweeping Phoenix 25-12, 25-11 and 25-16 in Murphy. The Pirates were tied at 12 in the opening set before HV took charge.
Avary Reneau finished with six kills and three blocks, Katelyn Hanson five kills and two blocks and Kassidy Calhoun five kills.
The Pirates return to action Thursday, hosting North Valley.
